ROBBINSVILLE, NJ – (December 5, 2016) - Robbinsville Police Chief Chris Nitti and Sergeant Chris Clifton were joined at the entrance to Police Headquarters by Denise Taylor, representing Womanspace, during Monday's annual Communities of Light.
Communities of Light raises awareness of domestic violence and sexual assault and the services available to help victims in Mercer County. The candles help spread the important message that "Peace Begins at Home."
At dusk on December 5, 2016, hundreds of individuals, scores of organizations and community groups, along with the municipalities within Mercer County lit thousands of candles.
In addition to a Proclamation read by Chief Nitti, 100 percent of all proceeds and donations to Communities of Light benefit Womanspace programs that serve over 10,000 adults and children each year impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault.
It is the hope of Womanspace that families who struggle with violence in their homes will see that their community stands with them and learn that help is available. Supporters can contact Lauren Nazarian, Director of Development, at (609) 394-0136 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Anyone interested in volunteering, please contact Susan Adams at 609-394-0136 or at email@example.com.
