ABOUT THE ROBBINSVILLE TOWNSHIP CLERK
The Municipal Clerk and the staff in the Clerk's office report to the Township Council, the legislative branch of government. The position of Municipal Clerk is a statutory position, requiring state certification and continuing education. The Municipal Clerk, as Secretary to the Township Council, is the recipient of any correspondence or reports addressed to the Council Members. In this form of government any correspondence for the Mayor should go through the Business Administrator's office.
In addition to serving as the Secretary to the Municipal Corporation, Custodian of the Seal and all minutes, books, bonds, contracts and archival records, the Clerk also serves as chief administrative officer in all elections held in the municipality, and issues various licenses and permits, such as dog, food handling, bingo/raffles, liquor and more.
The clerk's office is also a major source of information for residents. As such, Open Public Record requests are processed through this office.
Additionally, the Township Clerk is responsible for overseeing elections. Voter registration forms are available in this office, or visit the New Jersey Division of Elections web page for further voter registration information, military or civilian absentee ballots.
The Office of the Township Clerk is also responsible for maintaining vital records of birth, marriage/civil union, domestic partnership and death that occur in Robbinsville Township.
Copies of vital statistics records for those legally allowed to receive them can be obtained through this office. For vital statistics (Marriage/Civil Union/Birth/Death/Domestic Partnership) the office is open by appointment only from Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
